Well, Dot stayed at the vet's last night. She had a fever when we brought her in. They kept her, did blood work and xrays. They also gave her an iv to rehydrate her and to give her some meds (for pain, antibiotics, and to bring the fever down).
All the blood work and x-rays came back clean. The vet thinks that there is something wrong at the base of her tail. I don't know if I believe that...I think Dot is just pissy right now.
We should be able to pick her up today after work. R and I are both going to try and leave early.
$$$ later....
So, we are taking Dot to the vet tomorrow.
She has been eating or drinking....or using the litter box. We bought an eye dropper and have been giving her some water with it. And she will eat a couple of pieces of kibble if we put it in front of her. She doesn't want to walk anywhere, and she has been laying around for 2 days now. She slept between my legs all night last night and that is not like her.
She isn't even licking my nose. She always licks my nose. :(
Why are vet's so expensive? We need to get pet insurance.
In the Hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill.
Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber.
"I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed the worried faces.
"The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, very risky but it is the only hope. Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the brain yourselves...
"The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked, "Well, how much does a brain cost?"
The doctor quickly responded, "$50,000 for a male brain, and $10,000 for a female brain."
The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked.A man unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, "Why is the male brain so much more?
"The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, "It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used."
I am looking to change ALL of my stuff to Neighborhood only....
Does anyone know if there is a "switch" to hit? Or do I have to change everything manually?
Thanks :)
Gasoline is currently averaging $3.15/gallon in the U.S. and prices are only going to rise this spring. Wherever you live: Does the price of gasoline affect how you use your car?
K, don't even complain to me about your prices. 1 gallon = 3.785212 litres. So, our gas price ($1.07) times the number of litres in a gallon - $4.05 Canadian. Convert that into US prices and that is $4.16.
So shut up.
I am trying to use transit more and to plan my trips (for errands, etc) so we don't have to drive as much.
Which web browser do you use? What would you change about it, if anything?
IE 7
Although I want to start playing around with Firefox.
What's the best thing about today?
Hanging out with my friends who don't care what I look like.
Here are some more pics.
Dot is doing pretty good, especially for a spoiled kitty! lol
She is still hissing and growling, but I think she is trying to play a bit now (or it could be just attacking!)
So the person who found Dash took him to the vet and got his shots done and everything. The vet said that Dash is about a year (maybe a little under). Look at the size difference! Dot is 2.5! On Monday, Dash weighed 8.1 lbs. Dot weighs 13 lbs. Dash is so much longer than Dot. He has GIANT legs. He lays down and when he curls his body, the "elbows" of his back legs line up with the ones on his front legs.
