Excuse the mess in the background (wish I had some editing skills! lol).  R and I have been sick for the past couple of weeks and haven't really felt like cleaning! :D

What can I say...she likes her boxes.

I finished my first crochet project.  I made a baby blanket for a friend I haven't seen since last September.  She is coming to work today (she used to work there) for our annual pot luck.

Here is the blanket.  I based it off of the Tiramisu Blanket by Posie Gets Cozy.  I was pointed to the pattern by lulubird6.

I am really proud of this blanket.  I absolutely love it.  I <3 crochet! lol

This only took be a couple of weeks to do, and I was only working on it off and on.  I am not sure if you can see in the pictures or not, but the ribbon has little green dashes running the length of it.

We had a disagreement early.  I had to cut her nails.  They were freakin' talons!!  So I got one paw done.  She decided to freak, and rip my arm off. OW.

I got mad and smacked her butt hard...she knew she was in trouble.

We avoided each other. I had my nap in bed, she had hers on her (MY) chair.

I got up, and went out to the living room, and there she was laying, looking so cute.  How could I stay mad?

So I went and picked her up and cuddled with her on the couch.  She usually just sits on me for a minute or two, but she actually stayed for over 1/2 an hour!  And now she is following me everything wanting to get into whatever I am doing. (ie: chasing the mouse pointer or the cursor all over the monitor).  I think she is happy I made up with her :D lol

I love my baby.

Ok, so my friend sent me this link.  I laughed, I admit it.  BUT there is no way in hell I would inflict this onto my cat!

This is what I found as I started to do some tidying up today...

We started today with my making crepes and sucre a la creme (kind of like a caramel sauce, with whipping creme and brown sugar).

Opened presents.  Took pics of Dot playing with her toy from Nana.

Dishes.

Started cooking my brined turkey (I don't know if it was any better than not brining it.  Next year I will make one without brining it).

Went through my sewing supplies and realized that I have somehow misplaced ALL of my thread and bobbins. WTF?

Started cooking the other stuff for dinner.

Put everything together on the table for obligatory picture.

This includes:

- salad with cranberries and sunflower seeds, with a honey dressing

- candied yams (they are white yams, from....west indies?...I will have to asked hubby)

- gravy (which I bought from the college I work at, they have a culinary program, so it saved me from having to make it)

- stuffing with cranberries and sunflower seeds (stove top stuffing with that added)

- corn with seasoning

- brined turkey (brined in salt water with honey and brown sugar)

- bought apple pie (purchased from an apple store)

So, here is my fav present this year, I got it in advance, but it is my present...

And here is my christmas tree.  Please note that the ornaments start part way up the tree? and the crooked angel?

Our cat has broken 3 ornaments, so everything was moved up.  And we can't straighten the tree without taking it apart.....

I received an email from my DH (darling husband) today.  It was short and sweet (I guess?).  "I am bringing a spider home for Dot"

Yup you read right.  He caught a spider at work for our cat.

WTF? LOL

So, I decided to share with you all, the joy of watching my cat play with a spider.  Unfortunatly I didn't get a shot of her face when she took that first bite and promptly spit it out..

I *almost* feel sorry for the poor guy.  She certainly likes *playing* with them before she eats them...

She just looked so dang cute when I saw her.  AND she didn't move when I was taking her pic, which is odd....
